Remember the 'good old days'? Join Thor Kah Hoong as he relives the golden age of the 50's and 60's with 'Brickfields Now & Then'. Staged as 'Telling Tales' in 1998, this is the third staging of Thor's collection of childhood memories; accompanied with new stories, comical characters and experiences. This one man show will take you back to the time where corporal punishment was the norm, fireworks were still legal, 40 sen went a reaaaally long way, the essence of life... all through the eyes of a young boy growing up in Brickfields.

Synopsis:

‘Brickfields Now & Then 1′ has had two seasons in 1998 and in 2004 (Actors’ Studio). It’ thematic pieces on a 10-year-old boy growing up in Malaya in the 1950s and 60s. The programme: ‘Brickfields’, ‘Brickfields, the Movie’, ‘Brickfields. the Movie, the Sequel.’ ‘Crime & Punishment,’ (punishment in school) ‘Like That Shock Meh?’ (about a boy discovering the mysteries of sex) and ‘I Sent Him to Boot Hill.’ (Thor’s clash with the White world).
‘Brickfields Now & Then 2′ – all new material, even titles haven’t been fixed, include pieces on ghosts, God, death, ‘Memorial Funeral For Games’, light, fun subjects like that.
